More to life than rugby

For Robert, church was just a Sunday routine growing up. As he got older, he drifted away, focusing on rugby and pursuing his own happiness. Life was all about the game and living on his terms.

After moving to east Belfast Robert felt an inexplicable pull towards a church he passed daily. Curiosity got the hold of him, and he decided to attend a service. There, he discovered the Alpha course and thought it might be something he and his wife would enjoy. However, the course clashed with his rugby schedule, so his wife went along with a friend and ended up loving it.

Later that year, Robert was side-lined from rugby with a torn Achilles. With more free time, he decided to join the next Alpha course at the church. Through Alpha, Robert and his wife discovered who God really is and learned about the sacrifices Jesus made for them. This journey led them to fully embrace Jesus as their Saviour, and the Christian faith.

Robert's wife was baptised, and together, they became active members of their church community, finding a new sense of purpose and faith.
